In collaboration with the Office of Research, EHLT has been involved in the development of a budget tool for researchers. The series of spreadsheets with inbuilt formulae assist with the calculation of salaries, deal with increments and loadings and allow the user to manage and create project budgets.
The tool is available for download through the Office of Research website here (under point 6, 'Draft your application and budget'):
Rather than simply downloading a single copy once, saving it locally and using it over and over, the Office of Research advises that each time a new budget is being created that a new copy of the spreadsheet is downloaded. This will ensure that the inbuilt formulae are kept up to date and that new additions to usability are included as required.
