Casual general staff are employed in a variety of administrative, research, technical and trades roles.

Casual academic staff employment (otherwise known as "part-time teaching staff")


What does a casual academic staff member do?

Casual academic staff may be appointed to:

  • lecture in subjects;
  • give tutorial instruction, or
  • demonstrate in practical classes.

They may also be required to:

  • assist in marking of assignments;
  • assist in the preparation of teaching material and organisation of classes.
