Enrolment 2008

Amending your enrolment

Adding or changing topics

All undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students can add or change topics via the Student Information System website at: https://stuadmin.flinders.edu.au/login up to the last day to enrol in new topics.

Check important dates for the last day to enrol in new topics for each semester and/or study period.

Students will require permission of the relevant topic coordinator to enrol in new topics after the last day to enrol, and will not be able to enrol via the Student Information System website.

Special arrangements will apply for students unable to enrol via the web (eg students in remote locations who do not have access to the internet).

Contact Enrolment Services for more information on enrolling after the last day to enrol and special arrangements for students unable to enrol via the web, phone (08) 8201 3950 or 1300 360 351 (local call fee within Australia).

Research higher degree students should contact the relevant faculty administrative officer for information on how to add or change topics.

Withdrawing from topics

All undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students can withdraw from topics via the Student Information System website at: https://stuadmin.flinders.edu.au/login up to last day to withdraw.

Check important dates for census dates, the last day to early withdraw, withdraw without failure and withdraw for each semester and/or study period.

Student contributions (formerly HECS) and tuition fees will apply to all topics in which you are enrolled at the relevant census dates.

If you withdraw from a topic and are receiving Youth Allowance/Austudy, and your total study load is reduced below 13.5 units in a semester, you must notify Centrelink. To qualify for Youth Allowance/Austudy, you must be enrolled in a full time load of 13.5 or more units per semester.

Research higher degree students should contact the relevant faculty administrative officer for information on how to withdraw from topics.

Census dates and fees

Student contributions (formerly HECS) and tuition fees apply to all topics in which a student is enrolled at the relevant census dates.

To avoid incurring student contributions or tuition fees when withdrawing from study, make sure you amend your enrolment before the census date.

Students who withdraw from a Semester 1 topic after 31 March will be charged for that topic.

Similarly, students who withdraw from a Semester 2 topic after 31 August will be charged for that topic.

Remission of student contributions and recrediting of Student Learning Entitlement (SLE) or the refund of tuition fees may be considered if you are forced to withdraw after the census date for medical, personal or employment reasons or because the University changes arrangements for a topic or course. Remission forms are available on the web.

Changing your course

If you wish to change from one degree or diploma course to another, contact the Admissions Office in the first instance. An application to change courses must be submitted through SATAC for undergraduate courses or the relevant faculty for other courses.
