How do I apply for a study abroad or exchange place?

Study abroad allows students currently enrolled or eligible to enrol at a university outside of Australia (which does not have an exchange agreement with Flinders) to study full time at Flinders for one or two semesters, earning credit towards their degree at home.

Incoming student exchange allows students currently enrolled or eligible to enrol at a university outside of Australia (which has an exchange agreement with Flinders) to study at Flinders for one or two semesters, again, earning credit towards their degree at home.

Flinders students also have the opportunity to apply for an outgoing exchange program to a range of partner institutions.  To assist with the cost of travel and living expenses there are a number of study assistance packages, scholarships and OS-HELP funding available for eligible students.

The Study Abroad and Exchange websites contain details of study abroad and exchange programs.  Further information can be obtained from the International Office.

How do I enrol in the topics I need at Flinders?

Students arriving for study abroad and exchange programs should have approval from the International Office for enrolment in a number of topics (subjects).  Enrolment Services will ensure that the approved topics are added to your study plan.

As soon as you have obtained your FAN and set a secure password, you will be able to continue with your enrolment and class registration.

What if I change my mind and want to study different topics at Flinders?

If you want to change any of the pre-approved topics for your study abroad or exchange program, 'Request Support' via the Ask Trim website.  List the topics you no longer wish to study, and identify the topics to be added to your plan.  Enrolment Services will seek approval for the change on your behalf, and if approved, amend your study plan. Further information can be obtained by emailing Enrolment Services.

Does the student services and amenities fee apply to me?

As a general principle it is expected that all students will pay this fee irrespective of course or course level.  However some exceptions may apply, please refer to student services and amenities for additional details.
