Cross-Institutional Enrolment
How do I enrol as a cross-institutional student at Flinders University?
- Select your subjects (called topics at Flinders) by searching the Flinders topic information at http://stusyswww.flinders.edu.au/topic.taf.
- Click 'Show timetable' for each topic to check the timetable details.
- Enrol in your other subjects at your university and obtain approval to undertake the required topic(s) toward your course (as per your university's procedures or via authorisation on the Flinders cross-institutional enrolment form as described below.)
- Obtain a Flinders cross-institutional enrolment information
package from the Flinders University Enrolment Services
(email enrolment.services@flinders.edu.au),
which will contain
- a Flinders University Cross-Institutional Enrolment Form
- a Request for Commonwealth Assistance Form
- details of what information must be provided in order to enrol
- a reply paid envelope to send the enrolment form.
- The Enrolment Form provides for evidence of approval for cross-institutional study, whether you are a Commonwealth supported or fee-paying student, and, if Commonwealth supported, whether you are eligible to be a pre-2005 student.
- Complete the required form(s), and attach a copy of your enrolment details (as provided by your university), including all subjects enrolled.
- Post the form(s), using the reply paid envelope, to Enrolment Services, Flinders University, GPO Box 2100, Adelaide 5001.
- You will be enrolled in the required subjects by Flinders University staff, who will send a Confirmation of Enrolment notice in the mail once enrolled - if not received, please contact Enrolment Services on 1300 360 351.
- Once enrolled, you will be able to select your classes (tutorials, laboratories etc) online via the Flinders student information system - see also details on How do I obtain access to Flinders University systems as a cross-institutional student?
- You will also receive an account for any tuition fees or student contribution amounts that apply, with methods of payment and due date details.
- Students who have previously been charged a full time Student Services Fee for the relevant semester, and are able to provide proof of payment, will be exempted from the Flinders Student Services Fee for that semester.
- After the census date, Commonwealth supported students will receive a Commonwealth Assistance Notice for studies undertaken with Flinders University.
YOU MUST MAKE SURE YOU ARE ENROLLED AND HAVE SUBMITTED A CAF (Commonwealth supported students only) BY THE CENSUS DATE. THE UNIVERSITY CANNOT ACCEPT AN ENROLMENT AFTER THE CENSUS DATE.
How do I obtain access to Flinders University systems as a cross-institutional or non-award student?
Once you have been enrolled at Flinders, you will be able to obtain and activate your Flinders Authentication Name (FAN) and set your secure password.
Use your FAN and password to access the iFlinders website for email, the Student Information System, an electronic diary, Flinders Learning Online (FLO) and Library services.
Once your have logged in to iFlinders, you use your Flinders Student ID and your secure password to access the Student Information System. The Student Information System will enable you to make changes such as registering
for classes, withdrawing from topics, viewing results, viewing
financial transactions, making on-line fee payments etc.
Use your FAN and password to access information about your
enrolment at the Frequently
Asked Questions site and to record requests for support
for any enrolment-related problems.
Use your FAN and password to access your Flinders course materials via the Flinders Learning Online site.
