Fees

Outstanding debts

Outstanding debts include overdue:

  • student contributions, where a HECS-HELP loan is not applicable;
  • domestic tuition fees, where a FEE-HELP loan is not applicable;
  • international tuition fees;
  • instalment plan payments, where applicable;
  • Foundation Course fees;
  • student loan payments;
  • Flinders Housing fees and charges; and
  • library charges and fines.

An outstanding debt to the University will effect your:

Your details may be referred to the University's debt collection agency to initiate debt recovery action (including legal action, if appropriate), where you have an outstanding debt and:

  • you do not respond to University requests for payment; or
  • you do not comply with agreed repayment arrangements.

Enrolment

If you have an outstanding debt you cannot enrol or re-enrol until the debt has been paid.

An outstanding enrolment-related debt (eg tuition fees) will result in:

  • cancellation of enrolment in the relevant topics, and
  • loss of access to Flinders Learning Online for those topics.

Reinstatement of enrolment willl incur a charge of $100.

Outstanding debts do not prevent you from:

Library Borrowing

Library borrowing rights are suspended on the day after an outstanding debt is identified. Borrowing rights are automatically reinstated the day after the debt is paid.

If you require immediate reinstatement of library borrowing rights on payment of the debt, you may obtain an authorisation from the Cashiers Office in the Registry Building, or Student Finance Services in the Student Centre. The authorisation must then be presented to the main desk in the Central Library, or at the circulation desks in the Sturt Library and Gus Fraenkel Medical Library.


Academic Transcripts

You will not be issued with an official or unofficial academic transcript while you have an outstanding debt.


Results

Results are not available to students who have outstanding debts. Results will be available on the Student Information System on the day after the debt is paid.


Conferral of Degree or Diploma and Award of Certificate

You will be unable to receive a degree, diploma or an award certificate while you have an outstanding debt.
