Year 12 entry

At Flinders, we also recognise that every prospective student is an individual and that what works for one might not work for another.

That's why we provide various pathways for entering University and your preferred course.

Traditional competitive entry

The majority of Year 12 applicants enter University via the traditional, competitive entry method, where offers are made to eligible applicants with the highest ATAR's (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) until enrolment numbers are reached.

For more information, refer to:

Guaranteed entry

Achieve an ATAR rank equal or above the published guaranteed entry ATAR score and you will be guaranteed a place at Flinders. All you need to do is ensure you have listed Flinders courses first in your preferences and you will be offered a place in the highest Flinders course preference that you are eligible for in 2013.

Pathway entry

At Flinders you can start off in one degree and move across to your degree of choice later. With Flinderslink if you achieve a nominated Grade Point Average (GPA) Flinders will guarantee you a place in your nominated degree.

We make it simple for you. All undergraduate students can apply for internal transfer into another Flinders course (with the exception of a small number of exempt courses).

Contact the Admissions/Prospective Students Office who can suggest courses that are great back up plans or pathways for your preferred course.

Special entry and bonus point schemes

At Flinders, we also recognise that every prospective student is an individual and that what works for one might not work for another.

Therefore, we have a range of special entry and bonus point schemes, including:

Adult entry

Flinders University welcomes applicants from a range of backgrounds. We are proud of our long history of supporting adult learners; in fact half of all students at Flinders are classed as adult entry students.

As an Adult learner you can apply to uni based on results from:

Guaranteed pathway for Flinders University students

Flinderslink is a guaranteed pathway program for Flinders students who wish to change their course.

Some applicants do not initially gain entry to their first preference. Others decide they want to change their career pathway. Flinderslink is an acknowledgement of these situations.

Guaranteed pathway for TAFE students

TAFElink offers guaranteed entry to selected Flinders University courses for applicants who have completed a TAFE/VET certificate 4 or higher level qualification (provided the applicant meets the course prerequisite requirements).

Credit transfer

Credit transfer is a process that allows students to seek recognition for prior studies.  If you are eligible for credit transfer the length of time taken to complete your studies at Flinders may decrease and the tuition fees may be reduced.
