Contributing
to the well-being of the community through discovery and education
The Faculty of Health Sciences brings together
researchers from the biomedical and clinical sciences, and draws
upon synergies created by the collocation of Flinders University,
the Flinders Medical Centre and Repatriation General Hospital.
It develops, promotes and supports research programs that deliver
improved health outcomes to the communities (populations) served
by Flinders University. These communities are the Southern Region
of Adelaide, the Aboriginal communities in South Australia and the
Northern Territory, and rural and remote communities in the lower
Eyre Peninsula and Riverland.
The Faculty has an outstanding profile of research achievements
in medical sciences relative to those of other Australian universities
and a track record in clinical research and applied (translational
research). This is due in great measure to the emphasis on research
and the links between research, teaching and clinical practice provided
by the Faculty of Health Sciences.
