Eleven University Hall Residential Tutors provide academic and pastoral support and undertake an out of hours security and administrative role in addition, to facilitating and supporting social activities and lifestyles.
The tutors arrange social activities for their specific areas, assist with formal Hall events and provide academic assistance, pastoral care and personal support to all residents.
Each Residential Tutor is responsible for approximately 24 residents, known as their 'Area'. The Residential Tutors, within a team structure, report to the Senior Residential Tutor and to the Associate Dean (Hall) and/or Dean.
The Senior Residential Tutor, in consultation with the Associate Dean (Hall), coordinates Residential Tutor meetings and facilitates the Peer Review Committee. The Senior Residential Tutor is a member of staff, and as such mediates between the Residential Tutors, staff and residents.
The Residential Tutors, on a rostered basis, become the Residential Duty Tutor who is available after hours and on weekends for legitimate administrative needs and should be the first point of call in an emergency.
The Residential Tutors are experienced senior undergraduate or postgraduate students.
