Flinders is an outward-looking and culturally-inclusive university that meets exacting national and international standards in both teaching and research.

We have a broad range of international links and partnerships that enable our students and staff to participate in global education and research networks and we encourage enrolments by international students.

Flinders places great emphasis on the quality of the international student experience. It has a Cultural Diversity and Inclusive Practice Statement and a policy against racism. We are a signatory to the Code of Ethical Practice in the Provision of Education to International Students by Australian Universities, drafted by the Australian Vice-Chancellors Committee.

Flinders University courses are taught in several countries including China, Norway, Singapore and Thailand.

Some other courses are available through online or print-based distance education.

About our international students

Our international students are drawn from all continents, and more than 85 countries. Flinders welcomes enquiries from international students interested in coming to Adelaide to study in undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

International connections

Our international connections include links with institutions in Asia, Europe and North America. Many of these connections provide international exchange opportunities for students and staff.

Flinders is a member of the International Network of Universities.

The University regularly welcomes visits by senior staff from international universities and officials from foreign countries.

Flinders also belongs to the Association of Commonwealth Universities and Innovative Research Universities Australia (IRUA).

English language courses

The Intensive English Language Institute (IELI), which is located on our campus, provides intensive English language courses.

Alumni Association

The Alumni Association maintains contact with Flinders graduates spread throughout the world. Chapters of the Alumni Association have been established in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Jakarta.

International employment website

The Flinders Careers and Employer Liaison Centre has an International Employment website to assist international students in their employment search.

International Office and International Student Services Unit

The International Office and the International Student Services Unit (ISSU) have responsibility for supporting international students. Each of our 4 faculties has international plans, which are incorporated in the overall university strategy. Professor Dean Forbes, as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International), is a member of the university's senior executive.
