As an international student you will pay an annual tuition fee.

Fee-Waiver
There is a fee-waiver available on primary and high school fees for the children of many international Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students studying at universities in Adelaide.
Other Costs
Some of your study costs are not covered by tuition fees, for example:
- visa fees
- health cover
- course materials, field trips, lecture notes and stationery
- text books - the cost of textbooks can range from $100 to $500 depending on the course, but many books can be bought second hand.
Australian visa costs and conditions
A student visa will cost you $540. It allows you to reside in Australia, and to enter and leave Australia, for the duration of your course.
There is no option for part-time study (you must complete your course within the duration of your student visa).
For the purpose of issuing visas, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) has organised countries based on assessment levels. We recommend you consult the DIAC website to find out the assessment level of your home country and follow the prescribed procedure for that assessment level.
You must stay at Flinders University for the first 6 months of your study, unless DIAC or Flinders University gives you permission to transfer to another institution.

Overseas Student Health Cover
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is compulsory for all international students and their families, with the exception of Norwegians covered under the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme or Swedes entitled to grants and loans from the Swedish National Board of Student Aid (and thus eligible for Study Insurance).
OSHC covers all fees in private and public hospitals, emergency ambulance services, and up to 85% of most medical services outside hospitals (excluding dentistry and physiotherapy).
As a new student you must pay your course length OSHC fee directly to Flinders University together with your first semester tuition fees.
