The China Scholarship Council (CSC) and Flinders University (FU) have established a collaborative scholarship program for students from selected Chinese universities to undertake research PhD studies at Flinders University. The long term purpose of the program is to establish strong working links with Chinese universities in order to build relationships around key academic research areas.
A number of scholarships will be issued each year to successful applicants providing a living allowance, payment of tuition fees, overseas student health cover (OSHC), visa application fees and a return international fare between China and Australia. Applicants must apply to Flinders University as well as through the CSC application process and have approval from their home Chinese university.
Research Focus Areas
Flinders University has identified specific research focus areas which are targeted within the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Science & Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for these scholarships candidates must:
- be citizens and permanent residents of the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) at the time of application
- be from one of the selected 985 Chinese Universities from the CSC - Flinders program
- not working or studying abroad
- return to PRC upon completion of their research degree program at Flinders University
- meet academic entry requirements for admission to a PhD at Flinders University, including English language proficiency requirements
- intend to undertake research in one of the priority areas identified by Flinders University and CSC as listed above
- satisfy selection and CSC criteria by completing the CSC application form and CSC employer reference form
- meet Flinders University candidate guidelines

- Review the academic research areas as listed above available through the Flinders University China Scholarship program
- Complete the Flinders China Scholarships expression of interest form for your proposed area of research
- Complete the application form and academic referee's confidential report
- Discuss your application with an academic staff member at your home University. Your home University will need to support your application. Complete the CSC Home Country Support form .
- Complete the application and include all documentation including transcripts, evidence of your English Language Proficiency (refer to the application form for minimum requirements), a CV including any research publications, professional membership and any correspondence you have had with the discipline/School at Flinders University. All copies of documentation must be certified.
- Send the completed application form, CSC Home Country support form and all supporting documentation to the International Office at Flinders University.
- Don't forget to submit your CSC application to CSC. The application form and instructions are available on the CSC website .
