There are four main ways of connecting your computer to the Flinders University Network:

The Flinders University Wireless Network

Wireless networking uses radio frequency signals to connect your laptop to the Campus Computer Network. When you use radio signals instead of wires to connect to the network you can move around and even access the network at outdoor wireless hotspots.

Flinders University Education Roaming (eduroam)

eduroam is an agreement between educational and research institutions to share wireless access to enable inter-institutional roaming.
eduroam enables Flinders University staff & students to connect to the wireless networks of other participating institutions using their FAN (Flinders Authentication Name) name and password and visitors from other participating institutions to access the Flinders University wireless network.

Flinders University's Virtual Private Network Service

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a private network that uses the Internet to connect users from remote sites to the University campus network. When you connect to Flinders through the VPN server your connection is treated as an on-campus connection instead of an off-campus connection and enables you access to ‘on-campus only' resources.

The Flinders University Modem Pool

The University provides a central pool of fast modems for staff, postgraduates and honours students for use in their research when working from off campus.
