Mac OS X Lion (10.7) and newer Eduroam Configuration

Note: Mac OS X is able to auto-configure the wireless security from 10.7 onwards so the manual 802.1x configuration used in previous OS X versions is no longer required.  If you are using an older version of Mac OS, please click here.

Green highlights indicate settings that must be changed and Red highlights indicate the action that must be taken to continue to the next step.

  1. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the top menu bar and select eduroam from the list.

  2. Enter your FAN account details and append after your FAN username (as shown below) and then click the Join button:

  3. Ensure the ‘Always trust’ option is selected, the certificate name ends in, the certificate is issued by GeoTrust (as shown below) and click the Continue button:

  4. Enter the username and password for your local computer account (may not be your FAN and password if you’re using your own computer) and click the Update Settings button:
