I have a Flinders University Library Card but when I try and access resources I keep getting a message telling me the barcode is invalid. What does this mean?
It could mean your membership has lapsed and needs to be updated. Visit the Library Circulation Desk with your Library card, or other ID and you will be able to renew your membership. Or if you are trying to access an electronic resource, these are no longer available through the Flinders University Library. FMC Staff members have access to electronic resources through SALUS.
Why can't I use the computers in the Medical Library?
As part of the University Library, the Medical Library has computers which are funded by the University for its staff and students to use. FMC staff can use the 2 walk in OPACs (open access computers) to search the library catalogue or for quick print.
How can I renew a loan?
Both 28 day loans and 7 day loans are automatically renewed for a maximum of four times per item. Extensions are not available on items that have been requested by another patron, if the item is overdue or if you have already renewed the item for the maximum number of renewals allowed.
You can check your loans by logging into the My Account link found under Borrowing on the Library Homepage (http://www.flinders.edu.au/library). If you have any problems contact the Medical Circulation desk on 8204 5678.
How do I photocopy in the Library?
The printing and photocopying service is not run by the Library, but is provided by UniCard, an outside company used University-wide. Casual photocopying cards can be purchased for $2 and credit added. If you want to photocopy an article you also have the option of borrowing the item to photocopy in your department. Always ask at the Information Desk if you're having problems.
