Sean C. Dawes major areas of research interest included early South Australian history as well as the natural history of Australia, and he has published in both these areas. The materials contained within the collection include monographs relating to these subjects as well as to other areas of professional involvement, including food and sanitation. Correspondence tracing efforts to locate and promote materials of historical interest are included.
