The South Pacific Education Archive consists of material donated by Dr. Bob Teasdale, who was an associate professor in the School of Education at Flinders University and Director of the Flinders University Institute of International Education. The material is a diverse collection relating to education in the South Pacific, and is the only known source in South Australia for a number of journals.

The collection comprises of 7 shelves of published items plus 7 archive boxes. Contents include journals, reports (final, annual, draft), notes, working papers, articles, official publications and conference papers. They range between the years 1975 and 2001.

Dr Teasdale has a long term interest in the South Pacific, beginning during his years as a student, and growing through such varied roles as editor of the South Pacific Journal of Teacher Education, and advisor on various education-related projects. An example was his role as consultant to the Education Division of UNESCO in 1989-1990, on the implementation of adult literacy programs in the South Pacific. He was also involved with a number of projects with AusAid (the Australian Agency for International Development).

The USP Bulletin. Weekly newsletter of USP (University of the South Pacific), 1983-2001 (incomplete)

Pacific Island Monthly. Monthly Journal, 1984-1988 (incomplete)

Islands Business. Monthly Journal, 1984-present.

Directions: The journal of the USP Institute of Education. The only academic journal in the South Pacific in the field of Education. 1983 -1998 (incomplete). The only known source in South Australia.

The South Pacific Journal of Teacher Education. Includes all issues published under Dr Teasdale’s editorship, 1975-1981.
