Loans can be renewed in four ways:
- From the My Account option on FindIt@Flinders, the library catalogue.
- From the selfcheck machines located in each branch.
- In person – show your ID card to the Loans desk on or before the due date.
- Over the phone - you'll need to quote your student number and the title of the book.
A loan may not be renewed if someone is waiting for the book or if you have already renewed it for the maximum number of renewals allowed. 28 day and 7 day loans can be renewed four times per item.
If a book you have on loan is required for the Readings collection, we will ask you to return it immediately. You will usually be contacted via your university email account.
If the book you want is out on loan you may place a hold on it. This means that it will be kept for you when it is returned, and we'll email you to let you know that it is available. The book will be held for you on the holds collection shelving for 7 days at the branch you selected.
To place a hold on a book, it must already be on loan or on hold for another patron. Look the book up on FindIt@Flinders, view the detailed record and then click on Holds and other Requests. You will need to login and follow the instructions on the screen.
Reserve Collection Items
2 hour loans from the print reserve collection can not be renewed. To be fair to other borrowers, patrons must wait 30 minutes before borrowing the same item again.
