Deirdre Jordan Village provides self-catered collegiate accommodation. 

The 80 units in the Deirdre Jordan Village are fully equipped self-contained living spaces providing an independent lifestyle for a culturally diverse population, within a strong community setting.

Built between 1985 and 2004, the townhouses accommodate 2 or 3 residents whilst the 2003-build units house 5 residents.

Facilities and services


Each of the units contains a common living/dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom & toilet facilities, secure storage space for each resident, very generous desks, study chairs and a single bed in bedrooms as well as individual telephones and data connections. All new units have airconditioning in the common areas.

Five units are equipped with disabled access facilties.

The upper level units each have a balcony with a view while the lower level units have a shaded outdoor patio area.


Each of the 2 and 3 bedroom townhouses contains a common living area, a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom & toilet facilties, secure storage space, desks and study chairs and a single bed in bedrooms as well as individual telephone and data connections.

Common facilities

The Deirdre Jordan Village includes a community centre (with a large Common Room, seminar rooms and a music room), centralised laundries and outdoor recreational and barbeque areas.

Personal support

Residents in the Village are able to access support from senior and postgraduate students employed as live-in Residential Coordinators.

Recognising different needs and different stages of study

Flinders Living recognises the different needs of students at different stages of study.

Specific townhouses or units are available for postgraduate and senior students or for students requiring single-sex accommodation due to cultural or religious requirements.

Community activities

All residents that are part of the Village are invited to participate in community events with a focus on diversity and inclusiveness.

Residents have the opportunity to participate in community building activities as well as enjoying the greater privacy and self-sufficiency that comes with independent living.
