Throughout the year, Tuesday lunchtime sessions are held to showcase the Centre’s diverse interests. This may be a TAPAS session (see below), or an opportunity for staff or postgraduate research students to present or workshop a wide range of Health Professions Education topics to an audience. Sessions are open to all staff across the University.
TAPAS is Teaching in Action: Practitioner and Academic Sessions. These sessions offer short, topical aspects of health professional education that are beneficial to clinical life. They are intended for health professionals across all settings, academics, and other stakeholders.
Research Forum Friday Series
This monthly forum includes a research presentation and a journal club. It provides the membership with opportunities to workshop ideas to support their research pursuits.
Research Methodology Series
Offered at various times throughout the year, the Research Methodology Series are workshops facilitated by researchers with expertise in different research methodologies. It provides an opportunity for health professions education researchers to develop their knowledge and skills across a range of methodologies.
This event provides an opportunity for Prideaux Centre members and postgraduate research students to present their work-in-progress and receive feedback.
Annual HDR Development Intensive
The HDR Development Intensive provides an opportunity for postgraduate research students and supervisors to come together and build their research capacity. Each Intensive provides a different focus based on the needs of the Prideaux Centre membership and HDR student cohort.
The Prideaux Centre is available to provide consultations on a case-by-case an individual basis. This can be negotiated with the Centre’s Director, Professor Lambert Schuwirth.
