Why study disability studies?

Modern society recognises that people with disabilities should be offered every opportunity to involve themselves as fully as possible in community life.

Disability Professionals play an important role in making this a reality, not just by providing physical assistance but also by assisting people with disabilities to grow as individuals. The interests of Disability Professionals are broad, incorporating health and educational issues and the social and vocational skills of people with developmental or acquired disabilities.
