Community engagement

Community relationships form the backbone of Flinders Rural Health SA. We live, work, play and learn in rural communities across South Australia and are passionate about providing high quality education, research and health care solutions.

Across all of our regions:

  • Medicine, nursing and allied health students undertake work-integrated learning placements in hospitals, general practice and health care facilities.
  • Community-based Advanced Studies projects are undertaken by medical students.
  • Community members are used throughout the Parallel Rural Community Curriculum program as standardised patients to allow students to examine real conditions or have actors displaying symptoms to interact with.
  • Community groups use Flinders Rural Health SA facilities for professional development activities.
