Staff have diverse interests ranging from curriculum development and evaluation, clinical teaching and learning, assessment, and clinical skills and simulation.
We host the Executive Officer for ANZAHPE: Australian & New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators and have membership of the Committee of Management.
Our main activities are in the domains of curriculum development, assessment, admissions/selection, programme evaluation and faculty development. In these domains we perform quality assurance and improvement, expert consultancy, research and service roles. Our staff teach in a range of courses including the Medical Course and Masters in Clinical Education, deliver faculty development workshops and presentation, engage in expert consultancies, undertake research, supervise research higher degree students and publish in national and international publications.
Our focus is not just on the quality of the Medical Course, but in developing interprofessional education and liaising actively with educators across the school to build specific knowledge and expertise for Flinders University. In addition, we provide a supportive base for clinical education research headed by Professor Lambert Schuwirth, an internationally renowned medical educational researcher.
We are located on level 5 of Flinders Medical Centre in the School of Medicine near the medical library. Visitors are welcome.
