Melissa Suckley

A presentation which argued that staff who look after their own health are in a better position to do look after the welfare of students has won an award for the Best Paper at this year’s Australasian Association of College and University Housing Officers in Perth.

The paper was presented by Melissa Suckley, personal assistant to the Dean of Housing at Flinders. She has been funded to present her paper at the International Housing Officer conference in the United States next year. The paper described the “Living Balance” program undertaken by 12 of the Flinders Housing staff.

Flinders Housing supervises communal and self-contained accommodation on campus for more than 550 students. For details, see http://www.flinders.edu.au/housing/
