Managing Spirituality in Clinical Settings
The School of Nursing and Midwifery, Flinders University is conducting a workshop entitled ‘Managing Spirituality in Clinical Settings’. The workshop will be facilitated by Professor Christina Puchalski from the School of Medicine, George Washington University.
The workshop will be conducted in three parts:
1. Overview of spiritual issues in ageing. This will explore key considerations and relationships between ageing and concepts of spirituality.
2. How to integrate spirituality into clinical practice. An interactive session drawing on participants own experiences of spirituality in clinical settings and considering these within a framework. Examples will be drawn from practice to assist health providers to develop strategies and ways to integrate spirituality into their practice.
3. Communicating about spiritual issues with patients. This interactive session introduces developed tools to communicate spiritual issues with patients, used in a variety of health care settings.
