The School's research support activities are consolidated in the SoMN Research Hub, through co-location of researchers with investment in infrastructure and expertise. The Hub also provides a platform for multidisciplinary research. The co-location has facilitated peer-to-peer information sharing and knowledge transfer across programs and disciplines, and support for the development of relationships and networks.
Specifically, the Hub:
- fosters and maintains a creative research environment that helps researchers to achieve their research and development goals
- strategically coordinates the School's research to complement the goals of the Faculty of Health Sciences, the University and its external agencies
- identifies where research monies are being spent nationally and internationally
- provides support to further strengthen the School's existing areas of research success
- monitors the School's research performance against national and international benchmarks
- acts as a conduit for a nursing and midwifery contribution into key research areas and activities to which the faculty has a commitment.
