Cabcharge

In keeping with Section 32 (7) of the Rehabilitation and Workers Compensation Act, 1986, injured staff members are entitled to a travel allowance in order to attend medical services, hospitalisation or approved rehabilitation services.

If the staff member is able to drive or to take public transport for those appointments, then the costs will be reimbursed.

However, if the staff member is unable to drive or take public transport then he or she may be provided with a Cabcharge voucher. These are issued at the discretion of the Rehabilitation Case Manager or Occupational Health Nurse.
