OH&S Management - the planning process

Planning and reviewing the University’s OHS Management System and its component parts is undertaken by the Executive Director of Administration and the OHS Unit in consultation with the Cost Centre OHS Committees, elected health and safety representatives, the University OHS Committee and members of various working parties and ‘implementation groups’ such as the Hazardous Substances Management group, as appropriate to each situation.

The roles of the OHS Unit and the University OHS Committee in developing and implementing the University’s OHS&W policies and procedures, in consultation with health and safety representatives and Cost Centre OHS Committees, is explained in the University’s OHS&W Policy which forms the basis for the Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Management System.

The Vice-Chancellor has ultimate responsibility for meeting Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare legislative requirements and for authorising the University's Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Policy and Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Management Plan.
