There are a number of ways that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students can access financial support whilst studying at Flinders University. Yunggorendi Student Engagement staff can provide you with more information and assistance.

ABSTUDY is a program administered by Centrelink. It provides financial assistance for tertiary students, including Masters and Doctorate students.

There are a number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander specific scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Some Commonwealth scholarships are tax free.

Please visit the Scholarships website and search the database. You can also speak to an Academic Adviser at Yunggorendi about a scholarship that may be suitable for your circumstances.

Cadetships are available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are enrolled full-time in their first undergraduate degree.  Cadetships link students with potential employers who can provide work placements and ongoing employment once you finish your studies.

Indigenous Student Professional Development Fund

Yunggorendi Student Engagement has a limited sum of money available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to enable them to undertake a study related and/or professional development activity related to their program of study. This activity can include travel, field trips, clinical placements, conference attendance and workshops.  Funding is available in both S1 and S2 and students will be advised by email.  Applications should be submitted to the  ISPDF Application Form (PDF 100KB)
