Flinders University recognises that Indigenous engagement is a whole of University responsibility and is core to its long standing commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for all and to the University being a leader within the communities in which it is located.

The Flinders Indigenous Engagement Framework (FIEF) is based on the underlying principles of:

  1. Recognition and respect for Indigenous peoples, knowledges and culture
  2. Integrated, university wide strategies, policies and programs; and
  3. High expectations with clear goals.

Strategies outlined in the FIEF will directly contribute to increasing the level of Indigenous participation, retention and success in higher education, contributing to higher levels of economic and social participation for Indigenous peoples and their communities.
