Alison is currently working on an ARC funded project: Food in Australia. Balancing Food, Life and Money. Before moving to NILS in 2010, Alison worked as a Research Fellow on the HILDA team (2005-2007) at the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economics and Social Research, University of Melbourne. Throughout her time in Melbourne she also worked on a UK funded project on obesity (2005 - 2009). Before that, Alison was employed as a Research Fellow in the Health Economics Research Unit, University of Aberdeen, UK.

Alison's research interests are primarily in health related behaviour using large datasets, focusing on lifestyles and related policy issues,. Other areas of interest include migration.
