Greg Bain is Professor of Upper Limb and Research in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He provides Upper limb orthopaedic services to Flinders Medical Centre and the Repatriation General Hospital.

Greg's practice is exclusively upper limb orthopaedic surgery. He has presented and published research papers locally and overseas on hand and upper limb topics as well as editing text books on upper limb disorders. He is actively involved in pursuing an anatomically based approach to research and surgery.

He has a special interest in surgical education, arthroscopy and minimally invasive surgery.

2015: HMDP Ministry of Health, Visiting Professor, Singapore, Singapore Hand Society and Clinical Units in Singapore.

2013: Honored Professor, Philadelphia Hand Symposium, USA.

2009: Australian Orthopaedic Association Research Award. Awarded for producing outstanding orthopaedic research that has international recognition, and research contributing to the orthopaedic community and the community generally.

2009: The Evelyn Hamilton Award. Best scientific paper at the AOA ASM 2009, Update on fractures of the clavicle.

2008: Whipple Prize. Awarded by the presidential Council of the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society (EWAS) for contributions to the advancement of knowledge in wrist arthroscopy.

2004: Dodridge Prize. Best Paper Presentation at South Australian Hand Society, Biceps Tendon Anatomy and Endoscopy.
