Further information

Kostas has consulted governments widely at the international level (Germany, UK, Greece, EU) and since 2005 within Australia (including DEEWR, NCVER), on issues relating to labour markets and social policy. Kostas publishes in top national and international applied economics and econometrics journals. Kostas' general research interest lie in utilising large microeconomic datasets and applied econometrics to inform the design of economic and social policy in the face of dynamic economic and social environments. His particular interest lie in the areas of labour markets, labour turnover, productivity, skills development and utilisation, age, health, disability and education.

Kostas' current pioneering work applies advanced panel econometric methodologies to large and nationally representative data sets in order to measure mismatch in skills and education and estimate labour market outcomes of such mismatch. His extensive work in this area uses Australian data and is highly relevant to the way graduate qualifications are utilised in the Australian labour market.
