Kirsten joined the National Institute of Labour Studies in 2010. During this time, she has assisted in various capacities with the numerous research projects carried out. Kirsten works closely with colleagues in co-authoring commissioned research reports and assisting in project work by conducting literature reviews, composing annotated bibliographies, collecting and analysing both qualitative and quantitative data and administrating general project management work. She is key member on the interdisciplinary project team building an evidence base around homelessness and employment and is also working on a research framework for Fair Work Australia.
Kirsten is an experienced researcher in the areas of work and culture and has expert research skills in both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. As well as being an experienced researcher, Kirsten is seeking to further explore her doctoral thesis topic, which looked at the utilisation of Christian Camps by the institutional church as a form of religious reproduction. She is particularly interested in the relationship between religious and cultural experiences and their engagement in the work force, and 'religious' versus 'secular' workforces in general.
