Biography

Paul is a social scientist with a background in medical sociology, geography and health services research. Paul’s main research interests are around socio-spatial inequalities and inequities in health, medicine usage and the provision of health and social care. Paul also has a particular interest in research around lay and professional perceptions, knowledge and understandings of health, healthcare, medicines, risk and trust.

Research interests

My research interests are around socio-spatial inequalities and inequities in health, medicine usage and the provision of health and social care. I also have a particular interest in research around lay and professional perceptions, knowledge and understandings of health, healthcare, medicines and risk, and how these perceptions vary spatially and by socio-cultural group. In addition, given my experience in both qualitative and quantitative research, I have an interest in research which seeks to utilise the benefits of a pluralistic and multi-disciplinary approach.
