Deputy Director, Marketing and Communications Office
Office of the Vice-Chancellor

Head, News and Media
Office of the Vice-Chancellor

I joined Flinders University as the Head of News and Media in 2007 after a 27 year career in journalism and media-public affairs. Commencing with The Advertiser, I subsequently worked for The Age and The Australian Financial Review in the Press Gallery in Canberra - with experience as the AFR's Trade Editor leading to a position as senior adviser to the Federal Minister for Trade, Dr Neal Blewett, during the international trade talks in the early 1990s. A supporter of newspaper initiatives, I was a founding member of Business Daily (national) and the Independent Weekly (SA). Experience as a media relations consultant in Cairns and Adelaide included writing and publishing work for large corporate clients and tutoring in journalism at James Cook University. After the revitalisation of the former Public Affairs and Alumni Office at Flinders, I was appointed Deputy Director of the Marketing and Communications Office.
