After completing a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree at Flinders University, Tim worked for several years as a geologist. In a complete change of career pathway, Tim then gained qualifications as an Ambulance Officer with SA Ambulance Service, and now has more than 20 years experience in prehospital and emergency care. Tim has worked since 1997 as an Intensive Care Paramedic and has contributed to a significant amount of teaching within the industry. In 2002 Tim moved from the Ambulance Service into teaching Paramedic Sciences at Flinders University. He now coordinates the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Paramedic) degree and is embarking on significant research activities related to the evaluation of clinical practice and teaching within prehospital care.
Paramedic education of Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. Focused on ensuring teaching is authentic and contextual with use of simulations, problem based learning to support more traditional modes of teaching.
