Biography

My career as a journalist began at Adelaide's Independent Weekly newspaper in 2004, where I was a general reporter and specialist arts writer. Prior to joining Flinders University in January 2009, I was employed in a similar public relations/journalist role at the University of South Australia.
I have more than 15 years experience as an arts administrator. I owned and operated my own national theatrical agency, Fanfare Artist Management from Melbourne and Adelaide; and I was Orchestra Resources Manager of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
I have presented pre-concert talks for the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and the Adelaide, Melbourne and Queensland Symphony Orchestras; and I have written CD liner notes and program notes for the ABC and Universal Music.
I am currently the Chairman of the Australasian Classical Music Managers Association.

BMus(Hons), GCertM, GDipJ

Key responsibilities

My primary responsibilities include the preparation and distribution of media releases; seeking media interest in Flinders news; responding to media enquiries; writing stories for a range of internal and external publications, including the Flinders Journal, Flinders alumni magazine Encounter and the Flinders website. I also prepare speech notes for the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Michael Barber.
