The JM Main BequestThe late Mr JM Main, Reader in History from 1966-1984, has left a substantial bequest to the University for the purchase of books, microfilms, maps and other materials and documents of a like nature relating to Australian history, to be used in the Library. A management committee comprising the Chancellor, the Vice-Chancellor, the Professors of History and the University Librarian has been appointed to advise Council on the administration of the bequest. Decisions about specific purchases for the Library are made by the University Librarian in consultation with members of the Department of History.
