The ceremonial dress for the Chancellor,
the Vice-Chancellor and for other officers shall be as approved
by the Council from time to time. |
| 8 |
The ceremonial dress of members
of the Council and Boards of the Faculties who are not graduates
shall be same as the academic dress for the Doctor of Philosophy,
but without the scarlet facings on the gown and without a
hood. |
| 9 |
The academic dress for the Companion
of the University shall be the same as the academic dress
for the Doctor of Philosophy (but without the scarlet facing
on the gown and without a hood) and a gold stole embroidered
with the University crest. |
Following Council approval of the introduction of a new course,
the Graduation Officer will review the available piping colours
and, after consultation with the appropriate Faculty General Manager,
make a recommendation to the Executive Director of Administration and Registrar who will approve the colours under delegated authority from Council.
In determining the colour, account will be taken of the colours already in use by the faculty. As a general principle, the practice of using generic colours will be maintained eg the Applied Science
degrees use yellow; the Arts degrees use gold; and the Education
degrees use tangerine.
