The PDU offers a variety of courses for all staff, as well as providing tailored sessions for faculties and schools to build team-work and create development opportunities for their staff. The workshops offered range from mandatory induction and orientation courses, to supervisor skills to one-on-one consultations and coaching.

The iEnrol System - Workplace Learning

The PDU offers a range of courses under the 'Workplace Learning' Stream in the iEnrol system. In the iEnrol system, you are able to view the scheduled courses, enrol yourself in courses, view your past and present enrolments, and place your name on waiting lists for courses you would like to attend in the future. The courses are categorised under the following Streams:

  • Workplace Skills - general courses to assist with improved workplace practices, such as electrical safety, mental health, and managing conflict.

  • New Staff - induction and orientation courses for staff new to the university.

  • Supervisor Skills - a range of workshops designed to support new, existing and staff aspiring to supervisory roles, focusing on leadership, communication and feedback skills.

  • Human Resources Essentials - courses to assist staff to effectively manage their HR responsibilities, including recruitment and selection, induction/probation, and performance management.

  • Career Management - courses aimed at staff who wish to progress and develop their career skills.

  • Short, Sharp and Shiny - short information-based courses to provide information and resources for staff with governance responsibility, such as chairing meetings, taking minutes and setting agendas.
