We offer a wide range of advanced research microscopes and imaging facilities to researchers from academia and industry.
Expert support, training and advice is available at our open-access facility, located at the Flinders Medical Centre, south of Adelaide’s CBD.
Flinders Microscopy has some of the best and latest equipment available for:
- Confocal laser scanning microscopy
- Fluorescence and Brightfield microscopy
- Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopy
- Atomic Force, Raman and Scanning Tunnelling Microscopy (AFM)/(STM)
Digital image acquisition and processing is available with all our microscopes. The facility also provides equipment and expertise for specimen preparation.

Flinders Microscopy is part of a foundation node of the Australian Microscopy & Microanalysis Research Facility (AMMRF). As a node of AMMRF, our researchers can also access instrumentation available at other AMMRF nodes, and are eligible for AMMRF Travel and Access Program funding to support this. Flinders Microscopy is also a member of Adelaide Integrated Bioscience Laboratories (AIB Labs).
