Community and staff involvement

Community

The composition of Flinders' ethics and biosafety committees provides for the involvement of members of the community. Community members must be independent, that is, have no current affiliation with Flinders University or with the Southern Adelaide Health Service (including Flinders Medical Centre, Noarlunga Health Service and Drug and Alcohol Services South Australia). We maintain a register of interested persons for contact when vacancies arise.

If you are interested in becoming involved as a member of one of our ethics and biosafety committees, you are invited to download the relevant Role Statement and expression of interest form (see 'More information' below).

If you have any enquiries about what membership would involve, contact the Research Ethics Officer, Lesley Wyndram, on (08) 8201 5466 or email lesley.wyndram@flinders.edu.au.

Staff

Academic staff or clinicians of the university or the Southern Adelaide Health Service are welcome to lodge an Expression of Interest (DOC 30KB) in being appointed to a research ethics or biosafety committee. It is suggested that you first discuss your interest with your Academic Organisational Unit (AOU) Head in relation to workload considerations.
