The Research Data and Reporting team provide reports to various governement agencies on a yearly basis.
Research Income reports
Research Income data is collected by Grants Finance and included as part of the Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC).
Research Publication Collection
Publication data is collected on an ongoing yearly basis. The data, which was previously used for reporting as part of the Higher Education Research Data Collection (HERDC), is now used for Excellence in Research Australia (ERA) and for College/School research performance reporting.
The information provided during ERA is used by the Federal Government to ascertain the allocation of funding to the university.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) collects data on Research and Development on a biennial basis. Flinders University submits a report to the ABS on the 30 August. Analysis is provided by the ABS on Australia's Higher Education institutions on expenditure, location, source of funds, type of expenditure and type of activity.
Research Performance Analysis
The Research Data and Reporting team collate all data relating to Research Performance on a yearly basis. This data is then analysed and a report provided to Council.
The reports are now available for the 2009 to 2013 and the 2010 to 2014 Research Performance Analysis. Access is only available to Flinders staff with a FAN and password.
Excellence in Research Australia
Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) aims to identify and promote excellence across the full spectrum of research activity in Australia’s higher education institutions. ERA evaluates the quality of the research undertaken in Australian universities against national and international benchmarks.
The data submitted by Flinders University covers all eligible researchers and their research outputs.
