The undergraduate program is designed to intoduce students to the main characteristics of contemporary American society in a way that allows them to relate that society to their Australian experience and to their knowledge of other cultures.

American Studies can be taken as a 36-unit major sequence in a Bachelor of Arts, and some topics can be included as part of a major in History and Politics. American Studies is also offered as a major sequence within a Bachelor of International Studies.
