Sociology at Flinders University offers MA and PhD degrees by research, has an excellent research record, and an enviable record of MA and PhD completions. It currently has an active, enthusiastic group of post-graduates, and is interested in attracting new research post-graduate students of high calibre.
Sociology offers qualified research students a range of supervision options to match the varying needs and aspirations of students. For students who wish to pursue their own research topics independently, Sociology is able to provide high quality supervision in most major areas of Sociology . An alternative supervision model is available to students interested in extending or developing particular aspects of larger research projects already underway in the discipline. Students accepted to work on these projects will work in a small research team and receive training through their direct involvement in the research team, as well as through the formal supervision relationship. Supervisory arrangements combining elements of these two models can be arranged to cater to the individual needs of students.
