DESCRIPTION

The purpose of the May Mills Scholarship for Women is to encourage women, who have experienced significant interruptions to their studies due to family responsibilities, to proceed to a research higher degree at Flinders University.

The May Mills Scholarship for Women will be offered to women to undertake a program of study that will qualify them for admission to a research higher degree. Such studies may include Honours programs, postgraduate coursework studies or programs of bridging studies.

BENEFITS

The value of each scholarship will be $9,000. The number to be awarded each year will be decided by the University.

ELIGIBILITY

Appplicants must:

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia; and
  • be female; and
  • hold a Bachelor's degree of good standing; and
  • have experienced significant interruptions to their studies due to family responsibilities, requiring a break from study or a reduction in enrolment load; and
  • intend to proceed to a research higher degree at Flinders University on completion of the May Mills Scholarship for Women; and
  • have been offered, or expect to be offered, admission to an Honours program at Flinders University, or a program of postgraduate coursework or bridging studies that will qualify them for admission to a research higher degree.

APPLICATION

Applications should be submitted online through the Flinders University Student Information System. Applicants will need to login and navigate to the My Scholarships tab to submit an application. The application form for this scholarship is called " May Mills Scholarship for Women", or you can search for it by the keyword "Mills". Please read the how to apply page and ensure all of your personal details are up-to-date in Student Two as you will be assessed using the information in the Student System, including home and semester address, citizenship etc.

In addition to submitting an online application, applicants must also ensure that they forward the Referee's report below to a suitable referee for submission to Student Finance. It is the applicant's responsbility to ensure their referee submits the report by the scholarship closing date.
