Flinders University :Basil Taliangis Bursaries

DESCRIPTION

A generous donation by Mr Basil Taliangis AM, a Companion of the University, has enabled the establishment of the Basil Taliangis Bursaries. These bursaries have been established to encourage financially disadvantaged students attending secondary schools in the Adelaide metropolitan area or outer suburbs to undertake a higher education course.

BENEFITS

Subject to the availability of funds, two bursaries will be awarded annually and will be valued at $500 each.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants for these bursaries must:

  • have attended a secondary school within the Adelaide metropolitan area or outer suburbs (postcodes 5000 to 5172) in the year before a bursary is awarded; and
  • have applied for and been admitted to an undergraduate course of study at Flinders University under one of its Special Access Schemes; and
  • belong to one of the equity groups targeted by the University; and
  • be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

APPLICATION

Applications should be submitted online through the Flinders University Student System by the specified closing date. Applicants will need to login and navigate to the My Scholarships tab to submit an application. The application form for this scholarship is called "Basil Taliangis Bursaries". Please read the how to apply page and ensure all of your personal details are up-to-date in the Student System as you will be assessed using this information.

Applicants will need to demonstrate financial hardship to apply for this scholarship. This can be done uploading a recent Centrelink (or DVA) Income Statement which shows you are currently in receipts of government means tested benefits. Applicants not in receipt of government means tested benefits must be able to demonstrate financial hardship form by completing and uploading the Financial Hardship Form available below.
