Plus Resthaven Master of Nursing Scholarship

A donation from Resthaven Inc has enabled the establishment of the Resthaven Master of Nursing Scholarship. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage study related to aged care. Each scholarship will have a value of $5 000 over the course of 18 months. Two scholarships will be available each year, subject to funding.

Plus SARDI Science Bursary for Aboriginal Students

The South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) delivers, through research and development, innovation to enhance the food, fibre and bioscience industries and living environmental systems. SARDI is a division of Primary Industry and Regions SA (PIRSA). In line with the PIRSA Reconciliation Action Plan, SARDI promotes opportunities which support Aboriginal people with their aspirations of sustainable solutions within primary industries, and invests in future workforces by supporting tertiary-level students through the establishment of a bursary for Aboriginal students. The SARDI Science Bursary for Aboriginal Students provides $1500 to an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander graduate to undertake post-graduate study in science at a tertiary institution in South Australia.

Plus Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Research Scholarship in Allied Health Sciences

The Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Foundation offers one or more scholarships each year for full‐time post‐graduate research in one of the allied health sciences. Each award is tenable for up to two years at an Australian tertiary institution with facilities for postgraduate research. Graduates in evidence‐based disciplines such as clinical psychology, nutrition, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech pathology, are encouraged to apply. Applications from graduates of other allied health disciplines pursuing a PhD in that field will also be considered. The scholarship provides emoluments to contribute substantially toward the cost of living, books and charges.

The Study Overseas Short Term Mobility Program subsidy is funded by the Department of Education and Training to encourage participation in nominated short term mobility programs. The subsidy will contribute towards the cost of economy class international airfares and domestic travel with the nominated program, and additional living expenses while in-country including accommodation and meals associated. Subject to the availability of funding, one or more subsidies valued at up to $2,000 each may be awarded each year.

Plus Thesis Write-Up Stipends

The purpose of the Thesis Write-Up Stipend is to assist non-scholarship holder research higher degree students to write-up and submit their theses. The thesis write-up stipend will normally pay the equivalent of a Flinders University Research Scholarship for: six months full-time in the case of PhD and MD students; or three months full-time in the case of Masters students. Selection of award holders will be undertaken by the Scholarships Committee on the basis of the following criteria: maturity of the applicant's research (degree to which the thesis is prepared in draft, publications, conference papers presented, etc); the supervisor's appraisal of the quality of the thesis draft; and availability of other sources of support. The Wentworth Group Scholarships are to enable recipients to become active contributors at the interface of good decision making and world class science. The main aim of the scholarships is to give recipients access to the knowledge and networks of some of Australia’s leading practitioners in influencing public policy through their experience in the natural sciences, economics and public policy. It is not the intention of these scholarships to provide direct support for thesis research, nor can a scholarship be used as a stipend.
