School of Nursing and Midwifery Honours Scholarship Rules

The Flinders University School of Nursing and Midwifery has established an Honours Scholarship to provide financial assistance to an undergraduate student enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing and Midwifery (Honours) program in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Subject to the availability of funds, there will be two scholarships valued at $5,000 each awarded annually.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must: be Australian citizens or permanent residents of Australia; and intend to commence or have commenced an Honours program offered by Flinders University, School of Nursing and Midwifery; and have completed an appropriate undergraduate qualification; and be eligible to register as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife in South Australia.

TENURE: The scholarship is available for the normal duration of the Honours year (one year full-time or two years part-time), subject to the scholarship holder maintaining their enrolment in an honours program offered by Flinders University through the School of Nursing and Midwifery. A full-time student will receive payment in two instalments, one at the beginning of each semester. A part-time student will receive a pro-rata payment at the beginning of each semester. Payments will be made subject to satisfactory progress. Scholarship payments will be withdrawn if the scholarship holder withdraws or is precluded from the course, and will not be available for a repeat year of study.

SOURCE OF FUNDS: The scholarship is funded by the School of Nursing and Midwifery.

SELECTION: The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and the extent to which an applicant's honours research project is relevant to the research focus of the School of Nursing and Midwifery. Selection will be made by a Selection Committee which will comprise the Honours Program Coordinator, School of Nursing and Midwifery, the Associate Dean (Academic), School of Nursing and Midwifery and an appointed School of Nursing and Midwifery student representative.

Applicants will need to login and navigate to the My Scholarships tab to submit an application. The application form for this scholarship is called "Health Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery Honours Scholarship", or you can search for it by the keyword "Health". You will be considered for multiple scholarships if you complete this application.
